Doing strength and balance exercises at least 3 times a week can help lower your risk for falling.
There are many low or no-cost programs in NC through the Area Agencies on Aging and Senior Centers.
If you aren’t sure about how to safely begin an exercise program, a physical therapist can show you what exercises are best for you.

Ask a physical therapist what kind of exercises might be best for you! Physical therapists are movement experts. Learn how you can prevent falls with their expertise. Among older adults at a higher risk of falling, The Otago Exercise Program reduces falls and injuries. Ask a physical therapist about Otago or other exercise programs.
